14. MAY Be A Beach Day

Started the day off with running errands and going to lunch at Baja Fresh with my sister. I haven't been there in a while, so it was nice to go again. I got a baja burrito with less cheese. (Yeah I didn't picture document this because it's not that important). A little after 1, Blake and I went to our normal library location to do work until 430 or 500pm. When we finished we went to CDM to hang around for a while.

I was happy about the water being not icy and being at the beach....and then a big wave came and some kid fell over and started crying, so I got scared for him and wanted to get to higher land for safety when I stepped on a rock and scraped my toe.

This is me trying to laugh it off casually...

And yes I had to get a stereotypical sandy-feet-at-the-beach picture because I loved the way American Apparel's Coney Island nail polish looked on my toes.

13. Javier's

Forgot to post this last week.
But Blake and I went to Javier's for dinner on Saturday.

We shared a "La Tablita", and asked for half chicken, half carne asada. Both meats were good, but carne asada definitely triumphs the chicken.
The restaurant (Spectrum location) is absolutely gorgeous inside- very dark and sensual. Perf venue for a dinner date. (Didn't get a picture but even the inside of the restroom looked cool). Sorry the pictures are not very "high quality" overall, they're taken with my iPhone...and in a room with bad lighting.

12. IHOP & Luna Grill on a Saturday

On Saturday, I went to get brunch with my mom and sister at IHOP.

I like looking at and using the mugs at IHOP. Something about them evokes nostalgia. Perhaps is it because they look like those camping mugs/dish-ware, and I used to go on a lot of road trips that would have things similar to camping dish-ware?

Big 2 Eggs, a little too much. Normally I settle for the 2x2x2 (doesn't have hash browns). I'm going back to that next time. But I have to say...I do love IHOP's pancakes over Denny's.

Blake and I tried to study.

After giving up and going home, Blake and I came back out to get dinner at Luna Grill. It was his first time there, he got the sirloin plate, and I got the chicken. I alternate between the two from time to time. (their pita bread is deliiiiicious!!)

T'was just another Saturday at the Spectrum.
The dusk sky that night was gorgeous.

11. Roast Beef

  • (haven't been able to un-fangirl over this tune; 9th grade me is obsessed)

  • Went to the mall with my momma and sister today to take care of some things I needed to do. Then we had brunch at Lawry's Carvery.

I lovee! getting the lemonade when I'm dining here. They make it with fresh lemons :)

I ordered the roast beef au jus with a side of creamed corn. :3

And en route to the parking lot, I couldn't help but to notice the beautiful display in one of my favorite designers/store...Miu Miu

    10. The Other Woman

    (loooove this song)

Yay! My 10th post on this blog! Today Blake and I were going to go to the beach, but time did not permit, so we just went to watch The Other Woman at Triangle Square.

Summer weather is rolling around and seriously staying.

Blake getting mad at me for trying to take a selfie when WE WERE PARKED in traffic. Okay sorry.

Triangle Cinemas in Costa Mesa. Look how economical the ticket prices are at Triangle Square!!

So there has been a lot of debate about the movie online. I've heard reviews and rating from "F-" all the way to "the BEST THING EVER!!!". Personally, I don't think it is a bad movie, nor is it the "best thing ever". It's a very cute, girl power, BFF-bonding, GNO movie. Basically a chick flick that you watch with your best friend and bond over. But yes, because it is a stereotypical chick flick, the movie isn't made to be intricate and creative. So it isn't the "BEST THING EVER". I'd recommend watching it if you are interested, or have free time. But unless you are a Leslie Mann/Cameron Diaz fan like me, I don't think you need to go out of your way to watch the movie.

After the movie, I actually felt super nostalgic about my high school days, because my best friend (at the time) and I, on Fridays after school, would get coffee and go to the cinemas and watch chick flicks. Time flies really, and things change fast. :\

I had my first (official in-store) Del Taco experience today at the store on 17th street. I'm saying official because I've had Del Taco before at school camp, but we didn't get a choice or anything. It was just the lunch of the day, so I never consider that as official hahah. I like the fries, and soft beef tacos (with the del inferno hot sauce).

Stopped by Starbucks for Happy Hour.
Starbucks messed up someone's order (the tall caramel ribbon crunch on the right) so they gave the order to us because we happened to be standing right in front of the barista. We ordered a venti mocha cookie crumble with three (instead of four) vanilla pumps to share. Blake said the caramel ribbon crunch was way too sweet, but we both liked the mocha cookie crunch. It tastes like the java chip frappucino without the chocolate chips- a good alternative if you don't like the chocolate chips getting stuck to your teeth.

Blake showing off the drinks. (kidding).

Anyways, I'm a little bummed I didn't get a picture of my outfit today because I really liked it. Oh well, next time? By the way...HAPPY MAY EVERYONE!!!
